Did you know you don’t have to be a gym junkie to have protein? Of course, a protein supplement is meant for supplemental purposes only. So, ideally you should be getting all essential amino acids from a whole-foods diet. Many may struggle to do this due to dietary restrictions, being time poor or having behavioural or physical barriers to eating foods.

I am definitely one of those people and I decided to supplement my diet with protein powder, so I can have all the essentials I need for better wellbeing. 

When I stumbled across Macro Mike, I was enchanted with the colourful packages and variety of flavours! Of course, I had to try their classic and famous Almond Protein.

We Tried!

I picked the salted caramel flavour because I’m a sucker for caramel so that was my go to. The smell of this powder is such a delight – very rich and smells like heaven.

I mixed 1 heaped scoop of the powder into around 250ml of water (I used water but you can also use a plant based milk) and it blended really well, leaving no lumps behind. It also does not have that grainy, strange texture of most proteins – it is silky! 

Upon trying it, I was absolutely amazed – it tastes just like a milkshake and that is an understatement. It is so rich, so creamy and so smooth, it’s like having a bowl of ice cream! Not overly sweet, I can tell that mixed with milk this protein will also be a blast. 

This shake made me super satisfied, not overly full and incredibly happy! And the best part of all this is that there are so many different flavours to choose from that you cannot get tired of this protein.
