Bone broth was once lauded as an elixir by our ancestors, recipes of broth were passed down generation to generation so that families could provide healing and nourishment to their loved ones. Today’s busy lifestyle leaves little time to prepare such healing elixirs so we wanted to provide that warm hug that only broth can give. Bone & Co bone broths are authentic and made with Australian grass fed beef & free range chicken bones, made the traditional way and simmered for 24 hours. Bone broth is made from animal bones and connective tissue, that have been boiled and simmered for many hours and may include herbs, vegetables, and spices. A tradition from our hunter-gatherer forefathers of consuming the whole animal, nose to tail and no waste.

Broth, stock and bone broth use the same ingredients water, animal bones, vegetables herbs and spices. Broth is made with meat and bones and the broth is simmered for a short period usually no more than 2 hours. Think grandma's chicken soup. Stock is made with meaty bones, which are simmered for a slightly longer time of 3 to 4 hours, which gives a stronger taste to broth and is also more gelatinous. Think adding stocks to risottos and gravies. Bone Broth is made with bones and more specifically marrow bone and knuckle bones which are full of goodness. Bone broth is simmered for a much longer time, over 24 hours to release the gelatine in the marrow and cartilage as well as other nutrients. Bone broth can be used as a substituted for stock in culinary creations or can be consumed as is.
